Hi
Sorry about the short notice of this event, but, I forgot to post to the blog. The 'poster' says it all. 'Click' on the date and address below to link to Google maps, or see the map below all of this.
Sat. Feb. 16th 11052 Ventura Blvd Machesney Park Il 1 to 5 pm cst. If you get a chance, come on out. The rest of the lineup is great. We're pretty good. You'll have a good time.
Hi
we're gathered up with our stuff to head off to the last Poplar Grove jam of the season, and probably, the last one. . .
The band that's facilitated it for the last five years is tired. . . Don't blame them, it's hard work. They are looking for someone to take the baton, so to speak, and get going next season. Hopefully, someone will step up.
We're off to see what happens, music wise. . .
Hi,
How are you all? Oh, did I ever mention how much I appreciate you stopping by and seeing if we are actually doing something fun, or just checking in to see if we are alive? THANKS, it means a lot. And. . . if you aren't doing this, you should try. It's easy, and much more polite than dropping a ton of stuff into all our friends email boxes. Plus, you have the chance to have an audience of millions of readers. Cool, huh?!
Anyway, here's the weekend update as of now. We have our turkeys, yes multiple, ordered or purchased. We pick up another one tomorrow. We are doing two turkeys, and 5 gallons of stuffing/dressing for Thanksgiving dinner @ my moms. All my family, including those out on bail, parole, or work release will be there. Lock it down, or leave it @ home, that's on our family crest. . . Sounds better in Gaelic or Swedish. . .
We had our monthly bluegrass jam yesterday.
Nancy & Jeff, Mollie & Bill, and Mollie's
mom and sister ( in from Colorado) were nice enough to come all the way
out to the middle of Hooterville to enjoy the jam and have some great
bar food.
Our friend Bill got a new toy, and so we thank him for these great pics. Quite the techie now. . . Gotta love new toys.
Everyone sang and played great. I can't tell you how good my lovely wife Maggie is now. She holds her own with people who do this on a semiprofessionl basis. She plays good, sings great, and always adds spice and life to whatever she does. Nothing like good people and music.
The world would be a better place with more people like these. Music doesn't hurt either, unless you get whacked in the back of the head with a guitar, or fiddle bow. Doesn't hurt for long though. . .
Have a great Thanksgiving! Don't forget that, if you have internet highspeed, you can do a bunch of your Black Friday shopping on Thursday while you cook or eat or get ready for a nap, or, after you have your leftovers in the evening. We did that last year, and it was great. but keep it quiet though, don't want the world to know that you can do that. I'll update over the weekend, so you won't miss any of the exciting adventers in magsterville.
Oh shoot, I forgot to mention what the secret project was that we worked on for the last month. Friends of ours have an annual chili soiree as their holiday highpoint. This year, they wanted to make the invitation a DVD to send out, using pics from the 16 previous soirees. So, we did. We sat down with a G5 imac, using iPhoto, iMovie and iTunes to put together a 2:55 extravaganza. 18 hours later, we were finished. 30 dvd's, covers, labels and interior info came together better than I thought we could do.
Happy Thanksgiving from the apple fanboy. . . .and his lovely wife.
Later. . .
